You are very mistaken if you are referring to Furthur, the band started by Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. It is NOT a tribute band! It is a new band which happens to include Bob and Phil, two of the founding members of the Grateful Dead.
When they play Grateful Dead songs, they are not in tribute. These are songs they played as members of that band. Some of them are songs written by Phil or Bob themselves. So they are simply carying on playing their own music.
If you wrote a song, and then played it 30 yers later, would you consider you were playing it in tribute to yourself? The idea is ridiculous!
If you think it over carefully, I think you will realize your mistake.

The concert was great all the bands were good. I also wanted to see the hendrix act. and I thought Experience Myke put on a great show… Yes he did nail a lot of jimi’s stuff and he was very entertaining. The vocals were good enough.. (Jimi wasn’t a great vocalist) I thought He did a nice job playing with his teeth, and behind the back etc and the burning of the guitar at the end was a nice touch.. I would have to disagree with the previous post.. And I’d love to see the experience back..

The concert was loads of fun. But I still waited all day to see Experience Myke, and what a let down. I have seen many Hendrix tribute bands, and all have been better than Myke. He nailed a lot of Jimi’s sounds, but all feeling was lost when he jams in the middle of the songs. Sorry, but your vocals are even worse. Please Melanie, bring a different Hendrix tribute band next time.
